Fortress of Solitude

I'm sure you've all seen the Newsweek photo by now. We've all seen the FOS in the blogs. Do you think we'll be seeing some sort of new area or is the Newsweek pic from somewhere else?

titansupes 09-05-2005 12:40 PM

I think its just the Fortress after being powered down so long, and we'll see it re-energised and back to its crystalinne state by the end of the film.

Or maybe, these are the results of Lex f***ing with it.

ruhanv 09-05-2005 12:55 PM

What if the recent rumours about Brainiac being used in the film is true. The rumours state that he is in the form of some sort of computer virus. What if something returns with Superman from Krypton and Lex uses this virus to corrupt the FOS? He then uses this technology against Superman.

It would kinda fit in and Lex would still be the only official villian in the film.

Phlashman 09-05-2005 01:25 PM

Why are you so sure it's the FOS?

It could be a bit of Krypton.

Very true. :D

Except, Superman would be in his white/silver space suit. Not the actual Super-suit.

Plus gravity. Look at him standing there.

AND the yellow sun light.

I don't think it is the fortress of solitude.

'Sept. 12, 2005 issue - Inside a soundstage in Sydney, Australia, Brandon Routh, as the Man of Steel, crawls across a black, wet wasteland, pursued by the evil Lex Luthor (Kevin Spacey) and Luthor's three henchmen.'

Also in one of the blog's you see the FOS set and it doesn't appear to be brown. It looks very much like the original FOS from STM.

Who said the pic had anything to do with that scene? Maybe this was the only pic WB would let out.

And the FOS might not be the same all through the film. Maybe what we saw in the Blog was gonna be a backflash. Maybe whatever they're doing is after the Fortress is re-energised.

Usually pictures correspond to the scene ( usually ). I think the before and after FOS makes sense.

clark2000kent 09-05-2005 03:14 PM

yes it has to be the fortress... in the picture superman almos tlooks confused like it was destrayed and he is seeing it for the first time and investigating it

The Shield 09-05-2005 04:46 PM

My Theory...

I think that (Superman in the FOS) is just a picture that has not been finished, thus its current state. However, when it goes through f/x and all the finished product will have this effect...

Brandos "s" is too small

EvilSkillZ 09-05-2005 04:54 PM

Yeah I always wondered that too. If brando and the family has a small S. Then why the hell did christopher reeves have to have a huge S that takes up his whole chest...

Small S all the way for me.
