i got bored one night, was fed up with what obviously appeared as IESB posting complete B.S. about JLA (not to say that everything they've posted is BS), so i decided to put it to the test. i dont want to type the whole story again, so i'll cut and paste what i posted at SHH!:
this recent "rumor" from IESB is complete and utter B.S., and i can say this with certaintly because im the one who fabricated the whole thing and mailed it in.
but this wasnt the only "email scoop" i sent them. and Robert Sanchez's response and reaction to each email was very telling of IESB's questionable tactics.....
in the first email i sent them i told them i was a WB insider and i gave them fabricated (but reasonable) info about JLA that contradicted most of what they were reporting. i made four major points, to summarize them:
1. tom welling is not involved with JLA.
2. JLA wasnt going to interrupt MOS from happening (not that IESB ever implied as much, quite the contrary)
3. JLA is far from being put into production, and its not being slated for such anytime soon.
4. the reason JLA rumors were coming out of WB is because while the studio isnt looking to have JLA in production anytime soon, they do like the future potential of such a film. and having script revisions made and a director on hand will help define the unavoidable obstacles that will certianly pop up when they do decide to finally pursue such an uprecedented epic production, allowing the studio to be more prepared, allowing a smoother production.
roberts email response to this was tempered and very condescending. it was a very closed minded response leaving no room for any of this info to be even remotely possible. he even demanded me to respond with answers to specific questions in an attempt to prove me wrong on this info. (though, he did admit that they may very well be wrong about welling being involved, ha). the response is fair enough, as i would expect them to be fairly discriminating and cautious with the info they decide to post as news.
but, i recieved quite a different type of response with the second scoop i sent them under a different alias from a different email account....
the second email i sent IESB is the one they recently posted on the site from "Action Boy!". the information and story treatment is full of completely ridiculous statements and ideas (unlike the previous scoop who's info was far more reasonable). roberts response to this email was very courteous and not very inquisitive as to it's legitimacy nor demanding of any proof that im legit (completely opposite of his response to the other "scoop"). but he was inquisitive for me to get more info for him. he said he'd like to ask me a few questions, and before i even responded to his request the scoop was posted on the site, not even 24 hours after it was sent. clearly, no research was even attempted in order to verify any of the info involved, yet they clearly deemed it newsworthy enough to post.
robert tries to cover his ass by saying its just an email he recieved and to take it with a grain of salt....but if its not info that they're willing to verify to any degree, stand behind, and personally believe to be possible, then they shouldnt be reporting it. if they dont think their readers should have any reason to believe it, then they shouldnt post it. and if they're willing to post any piece of garbage that they get in their email box, then they should at least be fair and unbiased, which they're clearly not. i didnt do any of this to embarass the site...but clearly they're practicing bad "journalism", and any "scoops" they post should be given little to no creedence. it would seem they'll post anything no matter how ridiculous it may be, as long as the scoop jives with whatever agenda IESB seems to have. an agenda, that no other publication seems to think is legit. if you notice, IESB seems to be the only site who thinks JLA is happening.
oh, and one last thing, robert's last email to "action boy!" said to let him know whatever else i hear, theres lots of false info out there and people trying to derail the project....as if any of the B.S. their site posts has any affect on a JLA production, yet alone the ability to derail it
