Default Help with my Two-Face Costume

Not sure if this thread goes here or the suggestions forum...anyway...

A bunch of my friends are going as Batman characters for Halloween, and I'm going as Two-Face. I'm looking for ideas on how to make a good Two-Face costume. My early plan is to a pairs of clothes and sew them together, and I don't really know what to do for the scars on the face. If any of you have gone out for Halloween, to a convention as Two-Face, or are just really good with makeup, I'd love some suggestions. Thanks.

I've always wanted try the makeup, but never got around to it. But I'd lightly color one side a pale pink (or whatever color) with face paint, and dab PVC non-toxic glue on top and wait to dry and slightly pick at it to get a peely skin effect. Theoretically, I think it could work...

Man, I wanna make a fan-film

Costume shops are your friends. They want to sell you their stuff, so they are very helpful. They will have tons of ideas for you to get just the look you want. Take a photo or image with you so that they can get a visual.

I would recommend an oil-based make-up. The waterbased make-up tends to flake off a little after a while. Waterbased is good for bodyparts so that you don't leave greasy paint all over the place.

Liquid Latex:
This natural rubber is multifunctional. Apply to stretched skin for dramatic aging or stipple to skin for extreme sunburn and wounds. Seals wounds made from Nose & Scar Wax. Pour into a slip rubber mold to make prosthetic appliances. Fair flesh tone dries almost transparent.

Nose & Scar Wax:
Ben Nye's modeling wax is pliable, yet firm, to create simulated injuries and facial distortions such as a bullet hole or broken nose. Available in two translucent tones. Fair and Brown. Spirit gum beneath wax provides longer wear. Seal with Liquid Latex.

Final Seal Matte Makeup Sealer:
Apply over any completed makeup for smudge and water resistance. Final Seal keeps makeup in place on performers who heavily perspire. Add to Liquid Paints (about 10%) for greater durability. Airbrush artist, Mark Frazier, uses Final Seal as a base coat before airbrushing with MagiColor Liquid Paints. Take precaution around eye area and on sensitive skin. Remove with Hydra Cleanse. Mint fragrance.

3-D Gel
The most ghoulish effects are achieved with 3-D Gel. Heat to a liquid form, brush on, allow to cure, carve it up to your delight. No adhesive needed. Removes from skin and hair with warm water. May be used as a substitute for latex on children.

Rigid Collodion
A clear solution used to create scarring effects when applied directly to dry skin. When painted onto a small area, it wrinkles the skin as it dries. Repeated applications will deepen the effect. Collodion is removed by peeling off.

These items were all found at this site.

This is all great advice thanks. I'm gonna go to my local costume shop tomorrow to look at some stuff. Any ideas for the clothes? I'm gonna try to sew two suits together. Is it possible to sew two ties together? I want a tie thats half black and half white, but I don't know if you can really sew those well. Any other ideas?

Good ideas. If you pick the same suit style just in diffrent colors that should work well. Just open up the center seams and sew it back together. The tie shouldn't be too hard but if you don't have the sewing skills to do it you could use fabric paint. I would buy a white tie and paint it black. www.dharmatrading.com
has some fabric paints. Just make sure you know your fabric content so that you can order the right paint/dye.

Hey I am new here so forgive me if I make any mistakes. I am going as two face for my friends 21st and I have worked out the rough outlines of the makeup but have no idea how to scorch/burn one half of the suit. If you have any suggestion I would be most grateful. I will try to post the pics in here, please ignore how unflattering they are :

Very nice. Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to run out of my room like a little girl screaming in sheer terror.

looks creepy which is great
you could gel up one side neatly and mess up the other and add some white hair spray a-la batman animated series, also how about a whiteout/damaged contact lens and oh you need a two sided coin.

lol you could stick two £2 coins together or head down to your local Post Office a exchange a pound for a US dollar coin (the exchange rate is still pretty good)

Remember to hold one side of the coin over a fire to blacken it then spray it with hairspray so it won't smudge.
