Default What's happening with Kyle???

What about Kyle...?
Yes... Hal is back...

But Kyle held up the fort when there was no one else.

I mean he lost his girl friend because of the ring.

(Found her chopped up in a frig...)

Has lost other girlfriends. One he asked to marry.

He was "ION" for a while.

One of the MEGA HITTERS.

I exspect there may be a "Ion Copy" around some where watching a planet that needed 24/7 policing. There was one where he had to watch ALL the time or the different factions would destroy the place in a New York minute!

And what about the fact that was confrmed in the future that he was the LAST of the Green Laterns. Ever?

Just a few questions...

<G>

Nothing can be 'confirmed' in the future, because the future isn't here yet. The writers have always made it clear that anything we've seen from the future is from a 'possible' future, one that may or may not come to pass.

As for what's happening to Kyle, he's no longer in the Green Lantern monthly book, at least not as the front runner. That belongs to Hal now. He even got his own #1 issue, woohoo.

Kyle is currently dealing with the Rann/Thanagar war. Thanagar was destroyed, Rann evacuated Thanagar's citizens to her planet, and Thanagar decided to start a war to take it over. Kyle is investigating events dealing with that.

This fall, Kyle and Guy Gardner will be the focus of the 5-part Green Lantern Corps mini-series, that if popular enough is rumored to become an ongoing series. I know I'll be picking that one up.

By the way, I'm a Green Lantern fan, a Kyle Rayner fan, and a Hal Jordan "let's see how it goes" fan. I really liked Kyle, but I'm willing to pick up and see how Hal's book reads.

In the latest Wizard they confimed a GL Corps ongoing series, Kyle will be one of the main characters.

That's good, because the Rann/Thanagar War really stinks. Sorry, I just think it's some really poor writing. "Great Guardians!" Come on. Kyle doesn't talk like that. Heck, nobody talks like that. It sounds like something out of a bad Star Wars movie.

I have to agree. I myself have been less than thrilled by the portrayal of Kyle in this series. I'm glad to be able to read Kyle, but I thought there'd be more, and I thought it'd be the Kyle that I've been reading for over ten years.

Green Lantern recharge, written by the same guy who's currently writing Rann/Thangar (In which Kyle also appears), Dave Gibbons is shaping up to be a sleeper hit. I'm hearing good buzz.

I've been hearing rumors that Kyle is going to return to Earth in the middle of Infinite Crisis and something bad happens to him. I also keep hearing on various DevNet boards that Kyle is going to become like Alan Scott in Kingdome Come. He's going to merge with his Ring and become some sort of uber Lantern. I'd like to see Kyle go away for a while, maybe. Ya' can only have so many Lanterns. With one headliner the others always seem to lax. For example John Stewert was in the Superman/Batman series as a cameo. He was taken out os easily by Supes and Batman. With a headling Lantern like Kyle or Hal...all the others seem to cheasy.

Yeah, It's kind of sad what they did with Kyle. I mean he's the new generations Green Lantern. He's who people my age have grown up loving and now DC is bringing back Hal just because he was the icon of their generation. As much as I like Hal and the "new" GL books. I think DC is giving up on a great character in Kyle who is as I said before MY Green Lantern just because I grew up with him. I'm sure if I grew up with Hal I wouldn't care as much.

In the first issue they touched on the fact that there wouldn't BE a corps if it wasn't for Kyle, and he's looked at very fondly, could be seen as a GOD since he gave life to new Guardians...

I agree. Kyle is who this generation knows and loves. Nothing against Hal, but it's not like he was the first Lantern. All the Older GL geeks just want thier Hal back, and it looks like they won. Kyle was by far the coolest Lantern( coolest dat job, coolset costume, coolest ring and powers), and Hal was just a 40 year old fighter pilot who happened upon the ring. Kyle was chosen, and he had to fight for the respect that he eventually earned. I say, go Kyle.

Hal is a better leader, better fighter, better spoken and could kick Kyle's pansy @$$ easy. Just let it go man. Hal was always going to come back.

I wouldn't go that far man, they're both great characters.
